DRC Community Independence Advocate team attends Sportable Event in Richmond VA
Our team went to Richmond VA to attend theVirginia Adaptive Sports Festival hosted by Sportable in Richmond, Virginia. Sportable is all about making sports accessible and inclusive for individuals with physical disabilities, visual impairments, and those requiring physical accommodations. The event showcased adaptive sports, hands-on demonstrations, and community connections across the region. The festival is the East Coast’s largest showcase of adaptive sports and recreation. Our team gathered resources on adaptive sports, made connections with local partners, and tried out adaptive sports equipment.

DRC Floyd County Schools ADA Assessment
Our team went Floyd County Schools and assessed the buildings and grounds to meet ADA requirements and make the lives of students, families, and staff with disabilities a safe and inclusive environment. DRC is happy to assist any school systems or businesses in the NRV to ensure they are within ADA compliance. DRC offers services to assist with looking at the accessibility and safety of your buildings. DRC wants to ensure an accessible environment in all school systems and businesses throughout the NRV so that individuals with disabilities are able to remain independent and feel included in all environments.
